We consistently review and improve awareness and performance in health and safety across the business with industry specialists, suppliers, sub-contractors and clients. Our priority is to protect each and every person who is affected by the work we do.
Health and Safety Policy Statement
Our goal is to provide an incident-free environment for everyone.
We believe that this can only be achieved by integrating health and safety values within our core business and by actively promoting a positive safety culture.
We pledge to:
- Continually improve our health and safety performance
- Provide suitable resources to ensure that our employees, stakeholders and anyone that could be affected by our activities have a safe working environment
- Provide all employees with suitable and sufficient information, training and supervision to help them to undertake their duties in an effective and safe manner
- Consult with our employees and stakeholders on health and safety matters
- Regularly review, update and implement this policy.
We personally commit to this policy and we trust that all our employees actively participate in its implementation.

The National House Building Council
We work closely with the National House Building Council (NHBC) who undertake a monthly audit of all our sites.Southdale have established a health and safety committee, attended by external industry specialists to ensure the business is compliant with new legislation and initiatives.
Southdale are proud to lead the way in setting and achieving Health and Safety KPI’s which are 1 point below the All Builder Average score of 3.2 which was set by the NHBC. We have therefore consistently achieved over 2 points (1.43) below the All Builder Average improving the previous year’s target by 1 point.
Our accident and injury policy
At Southdale, safety is our priority. We aim to be injury and incident-free, and so far we have an exemplary record. .
We consistently review and improve awareness and performance in health and safety across the business. We regularly consult with our supply chain partners and clients to enhance our performance in this area. It is our aim to protect the safety of every person who is affected by the work that we do, whether directly as clients or indirectly as someone living in one of our communities.
All our professional and site staff hold a CSCS card.
